I'm a Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer, and yoga teacher here to help you reconnect with your body, feel energized and strong, enjoy veggies because they feel good—not because you "should"—and make space for rest days and pizza nights without guilt, rules, or fear of losing control.
In my practice, I approach health and nutrition from a holistic and intuitive perspective. I help clients who have eating disorders, a history of chronic dieting, who struggle with staying motivated to maintain their health, or who simply are stuck feeling ‘gross’ and hating their body because taking care of themselves feels like a chore. If you want to work on eating disorder recovery or improving your health from an Intuitive Eating lens, I’m your gal!
I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with my Masters in Public Health with RD training. Since becoming a dietitian, I have worked in residential eating disorder treatment centers, partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient level treatment. I have also worked in outpatient practices before ultimately starting my own private practice. All of these experiences have provided valuable insight into treating clients from an eating disorder informed lens and understanding what really helps people heal their relationship with food to find sustainable health practices. In my outpatient practice, I love to help clients with ED recovery and applying the work of intuitive eating to their day to day lives. We also work through body image concerns and exercising from a place of enjoyment.
My name is Denise and I am a registered dietitian and personal trainer with over 20 years of experience. I specialize in gut health, since inflammation in the gut can contribute to many chronic health issues. I have experience supporting clients with IBS, diabetes, cardiac conditions, emotional eating, eating disorders and disordered eating, and more.
As a functional and integrative dietitian, I believe in complementing nutrition with exercise and lifestyle changes to identify and address the root cause of dysfunction in the body. My approach focuses on creating sustainable, individualized plans that support both physical and emotional well-being.
I am certified by IFNA and am a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner. I am also LEAP certified and a certified personal trainer.
My interest in nutrition began when I earned to fuel my body for dance performance, realizing how empowering it is when diet works with you, not against you.
My love for nutrition expanded to include all aspects of holistic health. To feel my most optimal and embodied self, I had to learn the importance of rest, nature, laughing with friends, self-compassion, and listening to my gut-feeling. My strong desire to be in service to others along their path to wellbeing has lead me here.
I have clinical experience in eating disorder care (residential, PHP/IOP, and outpatient), multiple certifications in specialized gastrointestinal nutrition, and 12+ years experience as a dance and movement instructor, with certifications in yoga, barre, and strength.
Outside of work, I love dance, vintage shops, jewelry making, hiking, SUP, Brooklyn coffee shops, house music, and playing with my dog Frankie.
Hi, I’m Anna, a board certified registered dietitian passionate about helping people build a balanced, joyful relationship with food - free from guilt, diet culture, and restriction! I earned my Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where I also completed my RD training, and hold a Bachelor’s in Public Health from Temple University in Philadelphia.
I work closely with many individuals struggling with disordered eating and restrictive eating patterns, helping them foster a more peaceful and nourishing approach to food. My approach also emphasizes realistic, budget-friendly strategies that make nutrition accessible and sustainable for everyday life.
Outside of my work, I love to explore the outdoors, find new coffee shops with the best matcha lattes, take my puppy on walks, and learn new baking and cooking techniques!
